Do not send housing forms to the ASA office or contact hotels directly.

DEPOSIT: All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee. Housing forms received without valid and complete credit card information will not be processed.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Acknowledgements will be emailed or faxed from the housing bureau immediately after your room is reserved. Please contact JSM 2013 Housing at (888) 722-2220 or (514) 844-0848 if you do not receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours. Reservations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and according to room availability. You will not receive a confirmation from your hotel.

ROOM REQUESTS: Requests for a block of rooms may be made using the housing request form with a page attached indicating the number of rooms requested and listing the names of those in the block and the dates they will need rooms.

CHANGES: Up to July 1, all changes and cancellations must be made by telephone or in writing by email. Call (888) 722-2220 or (514) 844-0848 Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT or email reservation@tourisme-montreal.org. Always indicate you are attending JSM and have your acknowledgement number ready. Between July 2 and July 11, reservation information will be transferred to the hotels. Beginning on July 12, changes must be made directly with the hotel.

CANCELLATIONS: Failure to cancel your reservation more than 72 hours before arrival or failure to arrive on your scheduled arrival date may result in the hotel charging the credit card on file for one night's room and tax. Some hotels charge a penalty for checking out earlier than scheduled. To avoid this, verify your departure date upon arrival.

GOVERNMENT PER DIEM RATE ROOMS: A limited number of US and Canadian government rate rooms are available. Please reference the list above for hotels offering the government rates. Government-rate hotel rooms are applicable only to employees of U.S.and Canadian government agencies and require an eligible government ID at check-in. University employees are not eligible for government-rate rooms.

IMPORTANCE OF STAYING IN THE OFFICIAL MEETINGS HOTELS
Your patronage of the official convention headquarter and overflow hotels enables the ASA to secure meeting space at a greatly reduced cost, which helps keep the cost of the meetings and your registration fees down. With your cooperation, the ASA will continue to be successful in negotiating good contracts for the Joint Statistical Meetings and maintaining the programs and activities you have requested.

JSM technical sessions, plenary sessions, poster sessions, and roundtable discussions will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The exhibit hall and Career Placement Service also will be located in the convention center. Continuing Education courses will be held at Le Westin Montréal. JSM business and committee meetings and events may be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Le Westin Montréal or the Intercontinental Hotel Montréal. Please check the JSM Online program for specific locations.

Economy Housing

While there is no contracted economy housing for 2013 JSM, all hotels allow double, triple and quad reservations. For those interested, there is also a hostel close to the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
