ASA/NCTM Joint Comm on Curriculum in Stats and Probability
Charge:
- To provide national leadership for the inclusion of statistics and probability in the Nation's mathematics curriculum; to promote awareness programs and quantitative literacy among teachers; and to support the development of appropriate curriculum materials.
Composition: The Committee is composed of three appointed members from the ASA and three from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Two members are appointed/reappointed each year, and by each organization, for three year terms. The Chair is a member of the Committee and serves for two years. The Chair is alternately appointed by the ASA and the NCTM.
